Breast Implant Revision Surgery New York & New Jersey

Breast Implant Revision Surgery addresses concerns arising from a previous breast augmentation procedure. Dissatisfaction with the final result, a new aesthetic goal or surgical complications are all factors that can contribute to an unsatisfactory surgical outcome.

Breast Implant Revision Surgery may involve replacing, repositioning, or removing implants to achieve desired results, correct issues or to adjust for changes to the breast. This procedure is customized to each patient depending on their individual needs.

Are You a Candidate for Breast Implant Revision?

Patients with the following implant issues are ideal candidates for breast implant revisionary surgery:

  • Dissatisfaction with implant size or shape
  • Rupture of implant or capsular contracture (scar formation around implant)
  • Implant shifting or sagging due to changes in body post pregnancy, aging, weight loss
  • Repositioning of implants for a better appearance
  • Changing implant style, such as saline to silicone or silicone to saline
  • To correct visible implant rippling, or other complications
  • No longer interested in having implants, lifestyle changes
  • Implants have “bottomed out”- shifted downward and laying on bottom of breast pocket
  • Health Concerns- Implant Illness

A detailed consultation with Dr. Martin Moskovitz for breast revision surgery in NY, is designed to evaluate the revisionary options available to you.

Types of Breast Revision Surgery

  • Implant Removal – Removal of implants only, some cases may require capsule removal which is scar tissue formed around the implant.
  • Implant Removal with Breast Lift – Removal of implant combined with lifting of the breasts. Breast may look saggy or dropping after implant removal and the lift tightens the skin to improve breast appearance.
  • Implant Removal with Fat Transfer to Breasts- Removal of implants combined with fat transfer to the breast to add volume in place of implant. Fat is harvested typically from abdomen, back or thighs via liposuction.
  • Implant Exchange - Removal and replacing implants due to size or style change, rupture. Some cases may require capsule removal also which is scar tissue formed around the implant.
  • Implant Exchange with Breast Lift- Removal and replacing implant combined with a breast lift due to low hanging breast (after weight loss, pregnancy).
